Another New Year, Another New Beginning…

At precisely 11:20:45pm tonight (UK time), it will be the Iranian New Year and as with each arrival of New Year, it comes with it fresh promises and hope for the coming year ahead. So right here, with you I will share my hopes (and promises) for the year ahead:

1- to learn Farsi, become more confident. Engage more with the Iranian side of my heritage;

2- to progress with writing my book;

3- to exercise more;

4- to stop comfort eating;

5- not care what other people think of me: of the books I read, words I write, clothes I wear;

6- to make more time for the things I enjoy doing;

7- to complete my Diploma in Professional Proofreading and Editing;

8- to be more focussed;

9- to be happy and/or everyday find one reason to smile.

10- to keep these promises!

Some may say that being born in two contrasting cultures, one may be confused and unable to find an equal balance between the two cultures. Although that is true, one can at least enjoy the added opportunities of ‘turning over a new leaf’.

Happy New Year, everyone. May your days be full of fresh promises and hope!

    Happy New Year! This gives me another chance to try out my resolutions that I didn’t keep in January. Fingers crossed we both stick to them. X x x

    I’ve stopped making resolutions. It saves getting depressed when I don’t keep them! And having to do it twice a year is not a bonus!

    Aid-e-shoma mobarak. May your year be filled with love and laughter.
